September - Book your Summer 2009 holiday early for the best deal
In a new research by Travel Weekly
magazine, it is reported that over 5 million holidaymakers will book their
Summer 2009 holiday before the end of December. That is 10% of the total number
of passengers wishing to get away to some sunshine departing from the UK.

September - Air Futura cease trading
Spanish charter airline Air Futura have filed for bankruptcy. The harsh trading
times due to the high oil prices and the credit crunch has claimed another
victim.

September - Allitalia having rescue talks
A meeting between the Italian government, unions and a business consortium which
are offering to buy the carrier is being had in order to try to save the airline
from liquidation.

September - The CAA say thank you to the industry
The CAA has thanked the operators and airlines for all their help following the
collapse of XL Leisure. After such a turbulent week for the travel industry
which left over 80'000 passengers stranded it was good to see everybody working
together.
