A
recent survey by Direct Line Insurance company has revealed that
upto 15% of Britain's abroad make fraudulent claims on their
insurance.
The report has shown that 10% increase the value or the claim
and a further 5% actually add extra items.
The worst offenders are in the 18 to 29 year old group with a
staggering 33% admitted lying on their insurance claim forms.
Serious Matter
Chris Price, Direct Line travel insurance business manager
warned fraudsters against pulling the wool over the eyes of
insurance companies, he said, "Contemplating committing
fraud is a serious matter and we would urge anyone about to
claim on their travel insurance not to take this lightly,".
He went onto say, "In order to protect the interests of our
honest, genuine customers we do have systems and processes in
place designed to detect these fraudsters."
Overcharged
This news will come as no surprise to most, its been common
knowledge that people bump up the cost of items in all kinds of
insurance claims, their only defense is that they feel they are
been overcharged in the first place.
