March 08 | East
Midlands Airport goes green |
Good news for the green
campaigners as East Midlands Airport plan to install four wind
turbines onto its site.
The 31.5 meter high turbines were granted permission to the
airport and are due to be in operation later this year.
Each turbine will produce about 225kw of energy and save and
estimated 850 tonnes of carbon a year.
Penny Coates, EMA's managing director, said: "We are
delighted with the news. The four turbines are a step closer to
delivering on the promise we made in our Master Plan."
