5 is still losing more than 900 bags a day |
A new report by Union officials
are claiming that Heathrow's new Terminal 5 which opened in
March this year, is still managing to lose in excess of 900
pieces of luggage per day!
A former baggage handler at the airport told a parliamentary
transport committee that 932 passengers bags per day on transfer
flights did not end up at the destination they were supposed
too.
The new terminal's launch was a disaster with over 15'000 bags
going missing just within a few days.
BAA's chief executive Colin Matthews said in response that the
system is not yet perfect but said overall it was working well.
