January 08 | Ryanair
defend themselves over hidden charges |
A Ryanair spokesman has hit
back at Which? magazine which claimed no-frills airlines
were hiding extra charges such as baggage, credit card and
check-in fees from passengers.
The article said that passengers were paying upto £28 more than
the advertised price on a return flight by the time the booking
was finalized.
It also stated that Ryanair were the worst offenders with
walk-up charges of £20 just to check in their luggage.
The Irish carrier defended themselves, "It is typical of Which?
to ignore the blatant price gouging by airlines such as BA and
Virgin who are imposing unavoidable fuel surcharges on
passengers of up to €160 return when Ryanair’s check-in
charge is entirely discretionary," he said.
