Elite Travel names new general manager

The Elite Travel Group has appointed
former Dertour national sales manager Nigel Ham as general manager.
Ham starts his new role on August 6,
and has been tasked with developing the consortium’s technology
systems, reducing the number of preferred suppliers and increasing
membership. Prior to Dertour, Ham was sales manager at Travelscene and
Worldchoice senior commercial manager and has worked for a number of
retail agencies.
Chairman Neil Basnett said his role at
Worldchoice was of “particular interest”, adding: “We felt with
Nigel having had so many varying roles within the travel industry over
20 years, with most of these spent in the independent travel agency
sector, we as a consortium would benefit hugely from the experience that
he has had.”
Former general manager Paul Cowley
stepped down on July 6 to spend more time with his family.
