European Parliament votes on airline protection
|
The European Parliament will vote today
on whether to support legislation calling on all airlines to offer
financial protection for passengers.
If approved, the law would mean
scheduled airlines, including no-frills carriers, would have the same
obligation as tour operators in the event of a company failure.
The legislation could also force
airlines to advertise inclusive prices, and could put an end to
differential pricing in individual countries and markets.
European travel association Ectaa has
urged the European Parliament to endorse such a protection scheme.
