Laterooms.com strikes deal with online publisher
|
Laterooms.com has struck a deal with
newspaper publishers Johnstone Press to display late availability hotel
offers on its websites.
The company’s flagship newspaper, The
Scotsman, will be the first of 317 JP sites to integrate booking
technology.
Readers will be able to book everything
from bed and breakfast accommodation to five-star hotels.
The new technology will be plugged
through scotsman.com’s daily news feed, Paperboy, which is emailed to
116,264 subscribers.
The website will also run banner
advertising to promote regular readers to use the service.
The technology will be implemented
across the JP portfolio over the next 12 months.
Tony Walsh, head of development at
LateRooms, said: “More and more people are using online news sites to
keep up with the latest events. But it makes sense to expand the range
of services being offered online to match what’s advertised in the
print version.
“By adding hotel bookings to the
site, The Scotsman can become a portal, where people go to keep
abreast of news, but have access to further services such as listings,
shopping and holidays.”
