Tuscany and Umbria Travel Information
Described by the poet Shelley as a paradise of exiles, Tuscany
epitomises the quintessential Italian countryside, its rolling hills of
green olive groves and chianti vineyards punctuated by dark cypress
trees and topped by perfectly preserved mediaeval hilltowns, none more
beautiful than San Gimignano.
One of the most amazing sites in the area is Pisa with its world famous
tower.

The Leaning Tower of Pisa
Neighbouring Umbria remains, for the moment at least, one of Italy's
best kept secrets. Here lies a gentle, pastoral region with a more
dynamic mountain landscape where ancient hilltowns have a pinkish glow
in the setting sun.
