Getting Around
It is advisable to walk to most of the sites although for longer
distances we recommend taxis. For the romantic, a fun way of getting
around is by horse drawn carriage but agree a price in advance.
Must See
Visit the Alcazar Place and the 15th Century cathedral (third largest of
its kind after St Peter's in Rome and St Paul's in London) which is
built on the ruins of a mosque. Adjoining the cathedral is the 320 foot
high Giralda Tower, built by the Moors.
Don't miss the beautiful Plaza Espana built for the original Expo in
1929, with its hand painted tiles depicting Spanish Cities.
Must Do
The captivating Triana district is the gypsy heart of Seville; home of
flamenco and sevillana dancing and an innumerable amount of tapas bars.
Try Calle Betis for riverside restaurants and bars which are well priced
and full of locals.
To Relax
For shopping head for the area around Calle Tetuan and Calle Sierpes - a
long pedestrian street in the heart of the city.
Before sampling a massive variety of tapas in the Santa Cruz district,
join the locals in a stroll along the banks of the Guadalquivir or take
a rest in one of the many pavement cafes.
