Sears Tower
On a clear day from the 103rd floor skydeck you can see not only a
magnificent view of Chicago but also the statues of Michigan,
Wisconsin and Indiana.
Architecture
The city offers some varied and fascinating buildings - amongst
the most photographed are the Wrigley Building, Water Tower and of
course, Sears Tower and the John Hancock Building.
Beaches
Chicago has 29 miles of shoreline and its beaches are open from
Memorial Day (late May) to Labor Day (early September). The two
most popular and crowded are North Avenue Beach and Oak Street
Beach.

Lincoln Park Zoo
A 35 acre urban zoo which first opened in 1868. The zoo is
renowned for its ape house and also offers lions, elephants and
polar bears. Free of charge.
Shedd Aquarium
With more than 6,000 aquatic animals from around the world, the
Shedd Aquarium is the world's largest indoor aquarium. The
highlights are the Coral Reef Exhibit and the Beluga Whales.
Adler Planetarium
Features four galleries of exhibits and a 'Star Rider' theatre
which offers a 'Journey to Infinity' imaginary trip once an hour.
Museums
Chicago has a museum to suit almost everyone. Choose from the Art
Institute of Chicago, the Museum of Contemporary Art, Museum of
Science and Industry, Field Museum of Natural History, Museum and
DuSable Museum of African-American History. Located in his former
home, just outside the city, is the museum dedicated to the writer
Ernest Hemingway.
Sport
Chicago is a big sporting city. The city is home to the once great
Chicago Bulls (basketball), the Chicago Bears (American Football)
and the Chicago White Sox and Cubs (baseball. If you cannot get a

Grant Park

most bustling and appealing entertainment centres containing
shops, a carousel, 15 storey ferris wheel, an ice-skating rink and
a theatre.
