Getting There

Must See
The Roman Aqueduct of Segovia is a formidable piece of engineering. The
Alcazar Palace featured in the film Camelot and is said to have been the
inspiration for Walt Disney's castle in Sleeping Beauty.
The royal palace and gardens of La Granja are only 11kms away.

Salamanca, a great university city, has two impressive cathedrals and
arguably the country's most decorative main square, la Plaza Mayor.
Toledo, encircled by the River Tagus was home to El Greco, one of
Spain's most celebrated artists. It is ancient, compact, picturesque,
and saturated in history.
Avila is Spain's highest city and is best known for its walls which
stretch for over two and a half kilometres.
Must Do
Be sure to look out for the 'casco antiquo', literally old town, upon
arrival in any of these cities and head for the major attractions.
After a long day's sightseeing reward yourself by sampling some of the
regions excellent meat and game dishes.
In Segovia suckling pig, 'cochinillo asado', is a speciality and in the
other cities spicy chorizo will taste much better than it does back
home.

The main squares are usually great places to watch the world go by while
you order another glass of your favourite tipple.
Before dinner, do as the locals do and go for a stroll down the main
shopping streets.
